USER GUIDE / VERSION 0.1
Understand the data. Then run the workflow.
A practical introduction to GEORIN for first-time visitors, industry users and project reviewers. Project evidence and current desktop capabilities are always labeled separately.
What GEORIN is
GEORIN is a local-first product built around multi-source geospatial data governance for entity industries. Its main path is Acquire → Clean → Store → Publish, with Mining and Energy as the first industry tracks.
Pine Creek evidence supports acquisition, governance, PostGIS reconciliation and local OGC publication.
Solar and wind evidence currently supports analysis and file delivery, not a claimed OGC chain.
What happens to a dataset
- Acquire. Register remote services, archives or local files with source identity, license and checksum metadata.
- Clean. Normalize coordinate systems and fields, repair geometry, deduplicate and record quality checks.
- Store. Load supported outputs into PostGIS and reconcile file and database copies.
- Publish. Expose approved layers through OGC interfaces while keeping authorization and release evidence separate.
Data explained in plain language
- Vector: points, lines and polygons such as drillholes, faults and licence areas.
- Raster: cell grids such as elevation, satellite imagery and geophysical measurements.
- Tables: industry records such as assays, collars and candidate-site attributes.
- CRS: the coordinate reference system that places data in the correct location on Earth.
Permissions and execution boundaries
- Original data is treated as read-only; governed outputs are new derivatives.
- Remote acquisition requires authorized sources and credentials. Access controls are never bypassed.
- Publishing a service does not automatically make it public or anonymous.
- Model rankings support expert review; they are not geological, engineering or investment decisions.
- The server enforces read-only access with HTTP 403 on download endpoints. Screen capture and photography cannot be prevented by software.
Documents / secondary utility
Documents is the currently available single-page digitization workflow. It is secondary to GEORIN’s geospatial product direction and will become a separate specialist edition.
Supported input
Single-page JPG, PNG and TIFF; maximum 20 MB, 40 megapixels and one image frame. Multi-page PDF and industry-specific geospatial inputs are not enabled in this module.
Run a document workflow
- Select one JPG, PNG or TIFF document, up to 20 MB.
- Run the governed workflow and keep the window open during processing.
- Review OCR confidence and open the read-only delivery.
- Copy the expiring view link only for intended recipients.
Generated evidence
The private processing package contains searchable PDF/A, OCR text, ALTO coordinates, METS/PREMIS metadata and SHA-256 manifests. Only the online preview is exposed under the current policy.
A practical learning path
- Start with vector, raster and CRS concepts on the homepage.
- Follow one Pine Creek layer from source registration to PostGIS and OGC publication.
- Compare the Mining full chain with the Energy analysis-and-file-delivery boundary.
- Before uploading anything, check format, size, permissions, retention and review requirements.
Documents sources and deliveries expire after 24 hours by default. OCR runs locally and uploads are not used for model training. Anyone holding a view link can inspect that delivery until expiry.
